It still didn’t feel real, almost like he was floating in a dream like state. Though at the same time this was the realest anything had felt in a long time, because he knew this was where he belonged. Like a splash of refreshing cold water as he felt the body contact of his lover, making him realize this was happening. It was real && it was right. Ultimate happiness almost started to become some sort of unattainable myth in Sebastian’s mind, doubting he’d ever reach it. But looking around, seeing his hotel room, his boyfriend, the city that always stayed his home in his heart- he couldn’t be happier. No worries on the agenda besides what cafe they want to eat at for breakfast tomorrow morning. This was going to be a great experience for the both of them && for their relationship. He knew getting Blaine away from the stress of New York was necessary, even if Blaine liked to deny that it was.

Sebastian shuts his eyes lightly as he presses a kiss on Blaine’s lips back, deepening it the second time && shifting a simple peck into an absolute act of passion. In the city of love, it was hard to not turn into a complete lovey dovey sucker for romance. Sebastian intended to put no effort in trying not to. He had always been bitter to love, but somehow Blaine opened up a new side of him. A side where he wasn’t afraid to scream his love for Blaine from any rooftop. Embracing how close he felt to his boyfriend in this very moment, he hums affectionately. As their lips part Sebastian stays close, looking down at Blaine with eyes full of love. He places a finger to Blaine’s lips, raising an eyebrow before speaking lightly.  Je Ta’ime. he corrects, repeating the words of affection in French before pressing a kiss to his nose && moving his finger. Grinning against the pair of lips that touched feather light to his once again, he couldn’t be higher on life.

I’ll pour the wine. We can unwind a bit before exploring the city. Would you like that?

Sebastian deepening the kiss drew Blaine tighter against him and the taller one had to bear some of his weight through the part where Blaine’s breath paused and he got too dizzy.  In a motion that was total rom-com and something he did often when taken by surprise and caught up in the moment–best not to tell him this, though–. Blaine’s heel lifted a few inches off the floor until their mouths parted, he drew in a breath and Seb’s finger touched his lips to ground him–and his gravity defying foot.  A goofy grin sprang up as he nodded against Sebastian’s fingertip quick to whisper a soft, “Ohh!  Right!  Right!  How’d I forget?  Je t’aime,” back.  Olive skin lit up with a dusting of red, eyes twinkling with laughter when Sebastian landed a peck to his nose. “Mm, sounds perfect,” with their foreheads touching–Blaine rocked his back and forth slowly against Sebastian’s staring into the dense forest green of his boyfriend’s eyes without making much of a move to break them apart other than to drop his hands down to his side and release him from the hug.  “I’m opening every window in this place in the meantime.”  He wanted to let the city inside in every way possible.  Sights, smells, sounds.  Sebastian brought him home and Blaine was going to make sure that Sebastian had the chance to let that they were here together absorb while they lounged.

One more kiss–against Sebastian’s chin–and Blaine squeezed both of his hands and stepped back no matter how hesitant he was to leave the arms that were around him.  They had plenty of time for that.  Time to let the sunshine in.  Curtains gave way to the balcony and the view lurking past, large French doors were swung open so they could both get some fresh air.  With his back turned to Sebastian?  Teary eyes hinted how much Blaine might need it and the gesture was slightly selfish.  Blaine’s brimming smile erased any idea that his eyes were watery for any other reason than being flabbergasted and completely awestricken that Sebastian did this.  That he had someone like the man in the room behind him was something Blaine constantly had to pinch himself and prove he was awake and not dreaming because of how perfect Sebastian made their lives together–his life.  This was just–a little overwhelming.  In the best sort of way.  Still overwhelming.  “Hey babe,” he called out from the balcony, “I think I found my new favorite place here because–you have to see this.”  After he batted his eyes dry and stopped being such a hopelessly lost romantic, please?

“ My very first goal of this trip has been checked off the list. Seeing the look of disbelief on your face when we arrive at our hotel—– it’s priceless.   he smiled before pecking a kiss to Blaine’s cheek as the other steps out of the car door. He could get lost in those golden eyes for hours, anywhere. Even when they are in the beautiful core of Paris, with endless beautiful scenery. Still, he could get lost in Blaine’s eyes. Being in the city of love with his very own love meant the world. Making a return to France would have been like a dream even if he walked down the streets alone. But he wasn’t alone, the man who he had been in love with since the moment their eyes made contact was with him. Every time he looked at Blaine the flashbacks emerged, mental fog trailing to the sides && making a pathway for Sebastian to take a look at all they had been through. Though he had always been chasing after Blaine, he didn’t think he would end up with him. How he ever so adorably stuck his head out the window like a dog, or how he bounced back and forth on his feet in excitement. Sebastian loved all of it.

Rolling his suitcase behind him, && his carry on bag on his shoulder, he reached out for Blaine’s hand. Eyes were lit up with a passionate fire as they walked towards the ten-story building.  “ If you think it’s pretty now, wait until you see the inside. I think you’ll really like it here, Blaine.  Just before greeting the man who opened the front doors for guests, Sebastian looked over at Blaine, demanding an eye contact. His stare alone screamed ‘ I love you ‘. Sebastian didn’t have a cheeky grin on his face, or a smug smirk, he had an ear to ear smile sweeter than candy. He wished he could save every moment forever.

As the two entered the lobby, his eyes observed all of the fine artwork && luxurious decor. Other guests were walking by left && right, the ever so familiar sound of French ringing to his ears. There was a moment of shock like no other; Sebastian Smythe was home. Fingers stayed interlocked between Blaine’s as he glances over.  “ What do you think so far, babe? “  he asks with enthusiasm, filled with excitement to check in at the front desk && see their room.

As caught up in staring starstruck at the hotel as they walked towards it Blaine was?  The weight of Sebastian’s stare pulled him in like it had it’s own source of gravity that shifted the center of Blaine’s and brought him right into Sebastian’s orbit just as the taller man wanted.  That’s how they worked.  No words needed to be exchanged to demand attention.  Just that pull and tug from deep inside.  Blaine squeezed Sebastian’s hand tight and looked up quizzically.  The sight waiting for him when he did took his breath away. Sebastian’s eyes were only on him and the gentle smile that went along with that softness in the seas of green waiting for him there made it impossible to resist what he did next.  Who cared if they were blocking the door and the host was waiting for them to enter it?  Blaine reached out and curled his fingertips around the edge of Sebastian’s collar and pulled him down while lifting up to brush their lips together.

Blaine savored the moment long enough to breathe out a sigh and a quietly spoken, “It’s wonderful.  I can’t believe–it feels unreal that you pulled this off.  Of course you did.  If anyone could?  It’d be you.  That’s what I think.  I love you so much. Thank you,” over Sebastian’s lips and then it was back to their hands linked together and the sounds of their suitcase wheels following behind them against the polished marble underfoot.  By the time Sebastian let them into their room–Blaine was practically dry mouthed from gushing excitedly over every small detail his eyes landed on.  His suitcase and bag were lost halfway past the entrance, discarded and forgotten as he came to a stop and palmed his mouth muffling a laugh of astonishment. Speechless lips parted once he pulled it away and what else could he do but shrug and stutter and tilt his head staring at the man responsible with a look of absolute disbelief.  “You–I–Sebastian,” another breathless whisper of Sebastian’s name to add to the many that were on repeat for the past hour and a half.

she has her screaming inside face on.

for once in her entire life ;; rachel was silent. sebastian smythe. blaine was dating sebastian smythe. that was definitely a shocker. it was probably a good thing that blaine’s leg was draped across her, otherwise she would’ve jumped up–very dramatically. still, blaine was her BEST FRIEND and why should she make him feel bad about this? obviously he liked him. and if blaine was happy ;; why couldn’t she be happy for him?

                                 “ sebastian? —- you’re joking, right? “

she held up a finger to stop him from talking, && shook her head. she had to rethink what to say ;; maybe something a little bit less… judgemental.

image

“ that- is. wonderful news. and you’re happy, right? that’s the ONLY thing that matters. “

Purposefully pinning her down and forcing her talk wasn’t beyond him and he he’d done it for a reason.  Her walking away would have been a blow Blaine wasn’t ready for.  He wanted this to be–good–news.  Not that he expected it for most of his friend.  They were over-protective by experience and nature.  It was as endearing as it was frustrating. Especially about this. Rachel’s question had him opening his mouth before she shut him down with a lifted finger.

Blaine couldn’t stop his double take.  Mouth open in shock. She was going with it?

He first had to blink himself out of his stunned daze so he could watch her in a way that was all Blaine.  Narrow eyes and measuring ‘you really don’t mean that but am I going to call you out on it or roll with it because you’re being kind?’ stare.

image

“Yeahhhh.  –Uh huh.— That’s the ONLY thing that matters.  I’m happy,” he lowly whispered still cautious.  “Really happy Rachel.  Can I please explain how this happened?”  He wouldn’t mention how easily she agreed with him sort of freaked him out.  “Maybe if you understand the how?  You might get the why?”

please don’t freak out on me?

image

her eyes widened in surprise. blaine was seeing someone? that was interesting. when he mentioned it was somebody that she knew, rachel went through all the people they knew to see if should could mentally weed out as blaine’s mysterious boyfriend.

“— okay, you’ve got me intrigued, tell me more! “

image

Blaine scooted close and draped a leg across both of hers.  Mostly to pin her down and keep her from hitting the ceiling if necessary.  Like ripping off a bandaid–thinking telling someone that he was happy for once in so long as ‘ripping off a bandaid’ felt awfulthe confession was blurted out in a gushing run-on sentence.  “It’s Sebastian, Rachel.”  Perfectly timed smile GO!  “Before you lose it?  Hear me out?  Or are you not going to lose it?  I can’t believe I’m going to say this.”  He was trying to make a joke but he was so scared crapless of what she’d think nervous he overdid the eyeroll and his huff came out in a weird panting/stuttering sound. “Say something before I go crazy–please?”

rachel.

image

“ the last time you said that, you’d spent 200 dollars on hair gel, && had no where to put it—- there was hair gel everywhere, blaine. EVERYWHERE. “ nonetheless, rachel sighed, and nodded her agreement to not freak out until she got the full explanation. “ go on. “

image

“Well, yeah, but that was a Black Friday Sale and that gel is really expensive.  I had to stock up when I had the chance..”  She had a point. There was hair gel everywhere.  Their apartment looked like Blaine robbed a gel truck.  He was getting sidetracked.  Back to the point!  “Anyway back to what I was trying to say,” Blaine scooped up her hand and squeezed.  “I’m seeing someone,” he bit his bottom lip then made sure to smile encouragingly, even bowed his head for added emphasis that this was a good thing.  “It’s been going on for a little while.  I didn’t want to rush things by telling everyone before I was sure this was going to be something.  Actually!  It’s someone you know!”  –This was not coming easy.–  “Still with me, Rach?  Not freaking out yet?”

Tonight was the first night that Blaine agreed to go out/out.  His nerves were already thin from dealing with the visit and weren’t really up for running into anyone they knew just yet.  Small towns.  Word travels fast and his phone was already blowing up with messages to meet up from people he knew weren’t completely thrilled him and Sebastian together.  Rachel proved that on the first dinner date. In Lima, they were at square one. Awkward smiles and weird pleasantries until they figured out this relationship was the best thing for him in a long time. If they refused to trust Sebastian?  They needed to trust him.  If they were going to stay in town for long? Avoidance wasn’t going to work.  Stir craziness was kicking in. Sebastian’s rationale that they needed to get out?  Spot on.  Scandals it was..

Flash forward past the part where Blaine decided that he needed to stop worrying over something that he was blowing out of proportion and here they were here several drinks in–dancing!  Sebastian’s hand was on his hip and Blaine couldn’t resist the urge to spin around with a devilish grin as he brushed his hips up against him.  They both moved semi-drunkenly to a random song he didn’t know the lyrics of but it had a great beat. A navy blue dotted bowtie dangled from his neck having been pulled loose about thirty minutes –and two drinks– ago. Laughter at a whisper beside his ear lit up his eyes as he looked back to the bar wondering if the line died down enough that they could go for round – three?  four?  Hold on..

Wasn’t he in New York?

Kurt.   Like gravity pulled his attention to where his ex stood. Blaine’s heart skipped, his smile slipped but then returned with a minor flinch. Sebastian’s hand gripping his hip tighter hinted that he noticed why. A deep breath got him through that oh-so-familiar shade of blue greeting him back.  Blaine lowered Sebastian’s hand from his hip after a squeeze and turned to give him a kiss on his cheek.  Not for show, but to reassure him he was fine.  Blaine’s heels touched down on the dancefloor–he needed to say hello at the very least.  His hand lifted in a curt wave as he approached, teeth and the tip of his tongue worrying the edge of his lip before he smiled a-little-too-brilliantly.  “H-Hey!  Kurt!”   What now?  Hug him?  Wave again?  Stand there like a daft moron and offer him a handshake?  Blaine went through all the motions.  From a hand stuck out, to a wanna-be reach of arms that ended up being this weird back pat combination-thing. That did not work out the way he imagined. “How are you?”

rachel.

rachel sipped at her cup of coffee, and smiled at her friend. “ so what is this big news you have for me? “

image

Blaine plopped down in the chair next to Rachel’s, hands tucked under his thighs and rocked sideways to bounce off her shoulder trying to hide how nervous he was with a smile that did anything but cover it up. “Let me start off by saying I love you and before I go any further?  You have to promise me to not freak out and hear the whole story before you jump to any conclusions.  Do we have a deal?”

blair.

image

“Blaine!” The female rose from her seat, a mimosa in hand. “Come now, I’ve already ordered drinks. Only drinks. Didn’t want to shock you with a french surprise food. Thought I’d let you order for yourself.” She smiled as if it was the kindest gesture in the world. In fact, any gesture of kindness from Blair was one of the best rarest in the world. “I have a big day planned! Oh I just know you’re going to love it here.”

image

Blaine climbed out of the taxi and stared at the restaurant doors in a rare moment of time apart from his other half.  Sebastian set up a lunch meeting with a dear friend of his they’d met for drinks the night prior.  Without question, this was a distraction from whatever he was doing that had him grinning from ear to ear.  No matter how much Sebastian tried to hide it, Blaine knew that look meant he was up to something.  Hearing her voice as soon as he stepped inside, Blaine smiled and waved hurrying over to meet her.  “Blair!  Thanks for waiting.  The driver decided to take the scenic route,” he took the mimosa that was waiting for him with an grateful bow of his head and held the back of her chair with the other ready to help her take her seat again.  “Can’t wait!  I could barely sit still the entire trip here.  Should we order first?”
