Jeff laughed at Blaine’s last words of him coming in peace and he looked towards his friends and the new kid. “Yeah they are Warblers, I’m a warbler I guess you could call us like the Rockstars of the school” He told Blaine as he reached out and pulled Blaine further into the room. “This is Trent and Nick, as I told you they are Warblers and some of my best friends” He told Blaine

The boys in the room waved, and Jeff looked to his two friends “Blaine’s gonna join us, have we figured out which Senior we are going to rope into things” He asked his friends before they both came up with the idea of asking Wes and David. Jeff had turned to Blaine and explained why the boys were messaging to the two seniors that they were the Leaders on the Warbler Council along with Thad a fellow friend and the only Junior on the council. “You’ll like them” He told Blaine with a grin “They’re chill”

Jeff reached out grabbing Nicky’s arm and then Blaine’s in his other before calling out for Trent “Come on, well just go ask instead of text” He told Trent.

Blaine went where he was pulled after a few staggered steps to catch up and a blush moving across olive skin.  By this time?  His gaze was wide as saucers as he took in the room.  The other boys looking at him with open expressions of nothing but warm curiosity, the way the wood was so polished that it glistened in the sun coming through large windows that lined the walls, the ornate furniture.  Everything was a sensory overload.  From the smell of old books and antiques to the clammer of happy voices and waves of welcome.  “I’m very honored to meet you all.  Thanks for the welcome.  It means a lot..”

It took him less than five seconds to decide that this–other than the grand foyer with the wrought iron spiraling staircase and massive windows above that reminded him of the trip his family took to Europe and the cathedrals they toured when he was younger–that this was his favorite place in the entire academy.

“I never want to leave here,” he whispered under his breath only because he was certain that if it was aimed at his shoes that the other voices in the room would drown his out.  Jerking his chin back up and blinking wildly in shock as his arm was grabbed–Blaine groaned internally that this was the second time he felt his heart race at being grabbed so suddenly but Jeff meant well and his smile never faltered.  It was impossible to wipe it off.  “Great!  Let’s go!  Lead the way..  So? Can I ask? What makes you and them the ‘rockstars’ of Dalton Academy?”  Because he was too curious not to know by now.

Jeff laughed, Blaine was happy to be here and that was something most new students weren’t. They were more cautious and weary about being away from their parents and their friends, and most importantly their homes. Jeff though he was an old pro, always being put at a school so his parents could do the things they needed to do without him being worried about. He slipped on his vans and made sure his hair was okay as he looked back up at Blaine and noticed this time the bruise on his face and wondered what had happened or what his new roommate had done to wind up with that ugly bruise on his tanned complexion.

“Yeah well the more you see the more you fall in love Dalton is a safe haven, heaven, and sometimes hell depending on which subject you hate the most” he laughed “but I’m apart of the warblers and were like a band of brothers we always make sure to be there for each other and most of the guys you’ll meet today are Warblers” he told the new guy as he grabbed his wallet and his cell phone and his dorm key. “come on let’s go see if Nicky and Trent, my friends conned a senior into coming with us” He told him.

Leading out of the room he headed down towards the commons, just before making it to the big open room he turned to the door just before it and knocked calling out in a sing-song voice“OH YEAH” and opening the door on the two boys and receiving a pillow in the face followed by “Idiot” by a brown haired boy with a smile. “Hey guys” he’d called out “meet Blaine!”

“Yeah, I can see how this place would grow on you,” he smiled giving the room another once over grabbing his brand new key too since Jeff wasn’t obligated to entertain him for a whole night.  For a dorm?  You could tell it came with quite the price tag attached. Just how antique was the furniture? The view out the window?  What was that like?  All the while, there was a building excitement at the idea of already meeting more people in a place he was hellbound determined to make work.  He’d have to check out what was beyond the glass later because he was too curious about this ‘band of brothers’.

“The Warblers?  Has to be something with music?  Or really really passionate bird watchers..,” he grinned goofily as he followed wondering if his joke was a hit or a miss.  Jeff bursting Kool-Aid Man style through the doors had Blaine hiding a laugh behind his palm, elbow bent and resting on an arm wrapped loosely around his waist as he waited to be introduced.  The chuckle turned into a burst of laughter when Jeff took a pillow square to the face first.

Ouch, you oh–.” Oops.  All eyes were on him.  Blaine kept somewhat behind and close to Jeff’s shoulder meeting all eyes on him with a lean.  His fingers curled in a friendly wave.  He tried not to look too stupefied at the room itself.  At first sight?  It was immaculate.  Beautiful. Breath taking..and..calming–weirdly familiar feeling although he’d never seen it before–all at once. Weird, huh?  “Hi guys.  It’s nice to meet you. I–uh-come in peace,” he grinned at the pillow and looked back at the dark haired boy.  “Don’t shoot?”

Jeff smiled at the way the boy tripped over his words. Jeff turned towards his dresser and grabbed boxers and slipped them on tossing the towel on his bed and pulling out a pair of jeans and calling out once they were on his body “You can turn around now Blaine.” He paused a moment before adding “I’m Jeffery Sterling, most people call me Jeff or Jeffy or hey you blonde” He laughed at the last one remembering when David couldn’t remember his name so he just shouted across the quad and Jeff instantly had turned around.

Pulling out a shirt from one of the drawers of his dresser he turned around to face the new kid and smiled “A few of us are going to con one of the seniors into go getting pizza with us you should come with give you a chance to meet some students and relax a bit new school, new people gotta be overwhelming for you” He offered to the kid his eyes taking in the boys whole appearance and he wondered why the boy was transferring now and what his story was.

Blaine stayed put–facing the opposite direction so steadily that his stare could have easily bored a hole through the door if it got any more focused on the knots in the polished texture.  This was so awkward?  Wasn’t it?  Or was that just him?  Jeffery telling him he could turn around took a couple seconds to sink in. “Oh. Sure. Thanks,” Blaine pivoted back and smiled.  One that turned slightly embarrassed as he suddenly remembered the still fading black and blue mark underneath his eye when their eyes met for the first time that didn’t end in an about face half a second later. Did he look like some deviant put here by rich parents who didn’t want him to end up in juvenile detention?  God he hoped not.

“It’s nice to meet you, Jeff.”  Making sure not to watch him too long seeing as how he was shirtless–Blaine found a spot just past him to watch instead as he got dressed.  Pizza?  He was inviting him out for pizza?  He blinked–shooting a glance back at the blonde. “That?  That’d be great!”  His heart leapt at the idea and he might’ve answered a little overly eager but he didn’t particularly notice.  “Overwhelming is a good word for it but I’m really glad to be here.  This school is beautiful from what I’ve seen and I’ve heard nothing but amazing things. Everyone’s been so nice..including you so.. Sorry,” he cringed, “didn’t mean to start gushing..”

Jeff had spent the quick minutes washing his body with the axe body wash and heard a noise and heard words. Sticking his head out the shower door he called out “GEESH NICKY ALRIGHT ALRIGHT I’M ALMOST DONE” he called out and quickly rinsed himself off before pouring some shampoo in his hair and scrubbed before turning around and letting it rinse out making sure all of it was out of his hair. Making sure everything was squeaky clean he shut off the shower and opened the door once more reaching out for the towel and wrapping it around his waist and calling out again “Nicky, go get Trent. I have an idea instead of going to the hall we should go to that pizza place we can bribe one of the seniors into going with so we can use their car” He called out again to Nicky who had come in while he was in the shower

He had opened the door and looked up to see someone who was definitely not Nicky. “Who-Who are you and where is Nicky?” he asked looking around and then tilting his head at the new person and the boxes that were on the free bed in the room and the moment sunk in. “You’re new?”

Alright. Obviously this guy didn’t hear his panicked screaming.  Because less than a minute later the door swung open and Blaine was face-to-face with the pale haired boy he guessed was his new roommate.  The guy he’d be spending the rest of their school years living with and what a way to meet!  “I–Blaine. I’m Blaine Anderson,” he took a few backwards steps while rubbing his neck unable to hide the embarrassed cringe that tugged at the corners of his mouth and scrunched his nose.  “Definitely new as of a couple hours ago?  Definitely–also–embarrassed that we’re meeting under these,” his chin flinched towards the bathroom behind Jeff, “circumstances.  I should let you get dressed.  I’m going to be..”  A thumb jutted out and shot over his shoulder. “Somewhere over there pretending that I get a do over?”

Blowing out a breath through puckered lips as he about faced and walked back towards the center of the room–hazel eyes rolled towards the ceiling.  Keeping his back facing Jeff–Blaine propped his hands on his hips and stared at the polished reflection of his shoes as he rocked on his heels.  “I’m sorry. I didn’t get your name.  I forgot to ask. Hope you can forgive my lack of manners considering I just saw you mostly naked?  Sort of shocked them right out of me.” –I’m such an idiot.  Great first impression.  Way to go, Blaine!–

Jeff had been sweaty and probably stunk to high heavens as he moved out of the warbler practice room it had been another intense day of practice the counsel was happily trying to get the group prepped for their sectional in a few weeks. He had waved to a few friends calling out to them “Give me a few moments, Nicky, Trent,  let me take a shower and I’ll meet you guys down for dinner” He called out shutting the door to his dorm. He was one of the few lucky guys to get a room to himself he stripped his clothes tossing them into the hamper and grabbed his towel that was hanging off his computer chair and headed into the bathroom. Dalton was an all boys prep school which was both a blessing and a curse for most in attendance, sure the bisexual and gay students had an abundance of choices, where the straight boys sometimes felt awkward. Jeff himself considered himself lucky, he was able to focus on his school work and enjoyed his rare moments lurking at many of the boys that roamed the halls of the prep academy. Setting his towel down he reached into the shower and turned it on til it was the right temperature before stepping under the spray and letting the hot water melt his muscles before beginning to wash the dancing and singing stench of being a Warbler off his body.

“Thank you, sir.  My parents are really excited for me to be here but not as excited as I am.  I appreciate your hospitality but I really can carry the rest into the room by myself.  I’m not as bad off as my mother and brother made it sound.  None of it hurts.  It’s been weeks not days,” Blaine held the box he carried close to his chest and stopped outside the door that the teacher who was put in charge of giving him a tour and showing him his dorm motioned at.  He barely let it show that a small jab of pain ran from the almost healed scab at the very left corner of his eye when he gave the man a thankful smile.  Honestly, he didn’t want to be a bother anymore and he figured the teacher had other things to do than being his personal mover.  They’d gotten his things this far, the rest would come later after his father dropped them off, and he could handle the rest on his own.  After nodding to the instructions to call Mister Matthews should he need anything else–Blaine was left on his own.  Crooking a knee against the doorframe to support the box, he fished the key out of his pocket and unlocked the door.

Blaine was backing up into the room pulling the other boxes along for the ride when he noticed the shower going. “Oh no..”  Frozen in place–he looked over his shoulder at the bathroom door and rushed over to pull it closed with a loud thud to prevent anything super-awkward happening. Shouting through the door, Blaine hurried to make sure the poor guy inside wasn’t scared out of his mind by a random person showing up when he was naked. “I-UM!  My name’s Blaine!  I’m not–I was put in this room five minutes ago!  Please don’t freak out!”
