( mssg Ā» dave | sent)Ā I wish I could lie to you and tell you something a lot cooler (or sexier cause Iād take sexier too) than what it is but.. ( mssg Ā» dave | sent)Ā I found the archive of recorded Warbler performances and Iām all the way back to the VHS era.Ā Havenāt slept since I started.Ā I think Iām either going to pass out or maybe just drink more coffee. ( mssg Ā» dave | sent)Ā But either way?Ā Iām determined to finish this before I walk into that room and tell them Iām their new coach.Ā Iāll Clockwork Orange myself if I have to.
The fondest of smiles pulled at Daveās lips at the question, because it was niceĀ to feel appreciated and to have his own feelings considered by someone as incredible as Blaine. He wanted to make sure that he was okay to kiss him first, even going as far as to ask if it was okay. It was a strange thing for him to think, it was a strange thing to be a part of, really.Ā
Blaine was something else entirely. The good kind, obviously. He was amazing, thoughtful and careful. He always made sure to check on other peoplesā feelings before his own. He was such an incredible human being and Dave was left wondering how heād managed to get someone so amazing to find him attractive or to even like him for that matter.Ā
Cheeks flushed a deep shade of pink at the first kiss and he leaned into it easily, into the second one even quicker. It felt so brand new. It felt so ⦠good. Dave pressed back into the kiss with ease, cheeks hot and sucked in slightly.
Kissing Dave felt so different.Ā Brand new and breathtakingly so.Ā The initial nervousness wore off past the first split second their lips touched and Blaine let himself melt into the sensation as he explored what this actually felt like. Heād taken his time and feeling himself floating away made him wonder why.Ā Logical Blaine would rationalize he wanted to make sure he was ready for it when it happened.Ā In the moment and fully invested into how Dave drew him in and made him want to nudge their lips apart (which he did)?Ā Logic could find somewhere else to call home.
Only the sliver of a taste and he felt himself shudder.Ā His breath heavy as he pulled back only far enough to catch a glance of Daveās hairline and temple, the shell of his ear close to his mouth as he whispered.Ā Ā āWas that okay?āĀ Itād been months for him and he felt a small rock form in his throat after the question.Ā The finality of one part of his life and he swung his last foot through the threshold into something new, something unplanned but wanted, needed, ached for kept pent up was begging to be let out.
( mssg Ā» blaine | sent)Ā I think without context itās kind of weird.
( mssg Ā» blaine | sent)Ā I promise not to judge you at all. ( mssg Ā» blaine | sent)Ā Cāmon, Blaine.
( mssg Ā» blaine | sent)Ā Donāt be shy.Ā
( mssg Ā» blaine | sent)Ā I wanna know.
( mssg Ā» dave | sent)Ā Great!Ā So, youāre telling me I made this weird by trying to not make it weird?Ā Thatās pretty much par for the course in my book lately. ( mssg Ā» dave | sent)Ā Since you promised.Ā Plus, now, Iāve got to make this un-weird. ( mssg Ā» dave | sent)Ā Weāre in your car heading somewhere.Ā I havenāt been able to figure out where yet.Ā Maybe if I have it again?Ā Anyway.Ā Your hand is in mind while the other is steering.Ā Oh,Ā This is in one version of it.Ā Cause thereās two.Ā ( mssg Ā» dave | sent)
Youāre telling me that youāre so excited and weāre both itching to get to wherever it is weāre heading.Ā Our first trip together or whatever and itās this huge deal. ( mssg Ā» dave | sent)Ā I have no idea what road weāre on but you pull over and weāre suddenly out of the car and on some lakefront. ( mssg Ā» dave | sent)Ā Have I lost you here?Ā Still with me?
That was all the confirmation he needed.Ā Blaine smiled a small smile full of adoration for the man sitting beside him on the couch.Ā Theyād been so close to doing this so many times.Ā Walls came up, his conviction crumbled and usually he was the one to slam on the breaks, breathe in as fast as he could and change the subject.Ā But tonight?Ā Tonight he needed Dave, needed them, needed this.Ā And without so much as a single moment of pause, once the permission was given?
Their lips met gently at first.Ā Softness that was more exploratory than diving right in.Ā This kiss meant so much, as small as it started it was anything but.Ā Their lips meeting felt like turning a page.Ā A new, fresh one waited for him past all the ones with scribbled thoughts and jumbled memories.Ā Nudging him closer with a firmer press, Blaineās breath ran hot against Daveās cheek.Ā Butterflies.
Okay, well, Dave hadnāt been expecting the conversation to take this turn. Not that he was complaining because he absolutely wasnāt. Dave liked the idea of being close to Blaine, he liked the idea of cuddlingĀ too so this was a win win in his books. He just had to hope that Blaine wouldnāt grow to hate it.
He knew that he was on the larger size of life and he knew that he might not be too comfortable to some people but he hoped that Blaine wouldnāt mind it. So he finally settled himself down next to Blaine and smiled, arm curling around his waist.Ā āI can be the big spoon, if you want.ā He preferred being the big spoon, he was tall so it made sense but it also meant he didnāt need to face the awkwardness of someonesā arm around his large tummy.Ā
Blaine held his breath until he saw Dave stand.Ā Was he pushing things?Ā Expecting too much when Dave was only being kind?Ā But just when he was sure it was about time to go find a shovel and dig a hole for himself to crawl into?Ā A hesitant few seconds was all it took.Ā Given his past several months?Ā It was hard not to think the worst.Ā Even though he was trying his best to let the part of himself that did that go?Ā Itād resurfaced with a vengeance and he was getting there.Ā Day by day as current company has been telling him since night one.
Dave climbed into the bed and began to scoot near.Ā Blaine decided it was okay to breathe again.Ā He even stole a moment to lean over Dave and press a soft kiss to his cheek before stretching back out, his back fit itself against Daveās chest perfectly.Ā There was warm and comfort to be found.Ā Right here.Ā Ā āThis time?Ā That would be great.Ā I can always return the favor another time.Ā Donāt think I canāt big spoon the heck out of you because I totally can.āĀ Reaching back, their fingers were quickly laced together again and he pulled Daveās arm around his middle.Ā The weight of the world seemed to melt off his shoulders and he sighed against the pillow.Ā Ā āIs this okay?ā
It had been a rather long day, and thankfully, Daveās shift was just about over. Sure, he had a couple requests he still had to fulfill, but it would take long, he was sure of it. Dave glanced around the diner until he finally noticed Blaine. He quickly made his way over, and took a deep breath. āHey um, Blaine? I was wondering what you were planning on doing after work today?ā he questioned, admittedlyĀ a bit nervously. He was still in the process of attempting to make amends to everyone for high school, and the last thing he wanted to do was scare people off.
Blaine was busy behind the bar, humming along with a tune playing just a notch above the mixture of conversations and laughter from the guests. Ā A towel in hand as he wiped down the counter–hazel eyes glanced up at the sound of Daveās voice. Ā He wasnāt too into his task that he didnāt pick up on the faint nervousness inside the tone. Ā To help, hopefully, ease Daveās mind Ā a pleasant smile curved the edges of his mouth and he shrugged.
Blaine knew Dave was trying to fit in, make up for the past, belongĀ and deserved credit for that. Ā Who was he to make him feel like it was impossible? Ā Never. Ā Ā āNothing as of yet. Ā I was supposed to help Rachel with some school work but she cancelled. Ā I think her and Kurt went to a play written by some NYADA students and itās running longer than expected.ā Curiosity spiking up a notch, he tilted his head and hung up his towel. Ā āWhy? Ā Do you have something in mind?ā
( mssg Ā» dave | sent )Ā Hey there. Ā I know itās late. Ā If youāre sleeping, donāt worry about missing this. ( mssg Ā» dave | sent )Ā If youāre not sleeping? Ā I think you should meet me down by the lake. Not that Iām already here or anything. ( mssg Ā» dave | sent )Ā Okay. Ā I am. Ā Itād be nice to have you join me. Ā If late night drives and a crazy whim considering the temperature are in anyway appealing to you.
