( mssg » jan | sent ) Do I need to intervene and explain to him that it isn’t nice to hit girls in the face with hair gel bottles??
( mssg » jan | sent ) Wait!  A black eye?  Seriously?
( mssg » jan | sent ) Go ahead.  Do it.  I’ll watch. 🙂

puck.

Puck chuckled and rolled his eyes. “Uh, yeah, sure, you’re totally rubbing off of me. Guess you’re a good influence on me after all! Soon enough I might actually start doing my homework regularly. Okay, fine, I promise not to hit my teacher, but I’m only doing it ‘cause of you.” He grabbed Blaine’s coat and walked over to the closet. “Glad you’re doing well, dude.” He hung up the other teen’s coat before turning around to look at him. “Uh, it’s weird not having Kurt around. I keep expecting to see him around school. I miss seeing all of the wacky outfits he wears.” He bit his lip when Blaine mentioned how none of them had visited Kurt yet. “Shit, I’m not supposed to tell you this, but we’re visiting next Friday. It was Rachel’s idea and she was adamant that we all show up. So, we’ll all be there. Ya better act surprised or they’ll know that someone told you. I don’t want or need Berry lecturing me about what a surprise is.”

“I don’t mind taking credit for convincing you not to swing on a school official,” he laughed staring at Puck with a look of bewilderment.  “And if I can convince you to start studying?  Maybe I’d have another excuse to visit more often? Not to brag, but I can be a pretty good study partner.  Up to you though.”  Blaine didn’t mean to sound like some sort of nagging mother when he mentioned how he hadn’t seen any of the New Directions kids visit his friend at Dalton.  He stood there chewing on his bottom lip as soon as he heard the words echo back to him, watching Puck tuck his coat away.

“Really,” he asked perking up and letting the worry go when Puck let him in on the secret plans to visit, “That would be great.  I know he’d love it.  He hasn’t mentioned much about it..  Well, anything, about it but you know Kurt.  Just because he doesn’t talk about something, doesn’t mean he’s not thinking about it.  I know he loves Dalton but I know he misses you guys and struggling to fit into a new school is bound to happen.  No matter how welcoming everyone might be.  It’d mean a lot to him and might help the transition, you know?  Plus?  I can get the added bonus of showing you around the school,” he grinned and followed behind Puck towards the living room. “Tours are probably one of my favorite things.”

[Text – Blaine] Don’t beat yourself up over it, Killer. Worst things have happened
[Text – Blaine] I’m positive, you talk about things now, you’re only going to make things worse. Trust me, I know about these things.
[Text – Blaine] Great. Come meet me, I’m at Scandals, this place could use livening up anyway.

( mssg » sebastian | sent ) It’s just hard not to..
( mssg » sebastian | sent ) Well..  Maybe I’ll let it wait until morning.  Give things a chance to calm down.  I hope it’s the right thing to do.  Making it worse is the last thing I want.
( mssg » sebastian | sent ) Meet you at Scandals?  Are you sure I’m not going to put a damper on your night?

( mssg » blaine | sent ) Which I’m assuming probably also makes it a little easier for you to more actively blend in.

( mssg » blaine | sent ) I should probably let you in on our regular table.

( mssg » kurt | sent ) I guess it does.  What do you think?  Did we blend in well?  I like to think we all stand out in our own ways in spite of the uniform.
( mssg » kurt | sent ) I get an invite to the “regular table”?  I’m honored.  Are you sure it won’t be a conflict of interest?  I mean, that sounds like a bigger deal than sneaking into Dalton’s cafe for coffee.  😊

sebastian.

“Don’t put the blame on me. The cute-boy-wonder doth protest too much,” he winked. It seemed that Blaine was enjoying his cooking. Well, of course he was but it’s nice to know it isn’t being secretly spat out or something of the sorts. “I know, you must be wondering ‘Sebastian, you’re husband material. When are we getting married?’ and the answer is whenever you want.” Would he get a blush out of that one?

A slight pause. “Yeah, um, I had a brother. He died. That’s why you didn’t know,” he hesitated to tell Blaine this initially. Sebastian had moved on from that chapter of his life. But sometimes he would still wake up and have to remind himself that someone like his brother was gone from this world. That was the most bizarre part about grief. Everyday is a new shocking relearning of events. Taking the picture and putting it back he looked at Blaine with a newfound smile. “So anyways, when are we getting our cuddle on? Or show me yours?” Changing the subject was never more appropriate.

“Boy Wonder?  Come on–now you’re ridiculous,” Blaine scoffed in the direction of the floor and then glanced up with a smirk that kept spreading across his mouth until it was practically ear to ear by the time Sebastian was done fluffing up his husband material status. “How’d you know? And I don’t think you’re ready for that kind of a commitment with me, Seb. Not with the stories you’ve told me about your weekend activities.  I just wouldn’t feel right tying such a wild horse down.”  Blushing much?  Oh!  You could say his imitation of the background color of a stop sign was the best it’s ever been.

Sebastian’s pause made Blaine pause too.  His laughter faded and he was back to curiously watching him with a bewildered blink. When he heard the truth?  Blaine’s stomach bottomed out and any traces of his smile was gone. “Oh. Oh.”  Losing a brother was unthinkable in Blaine’s book.  Yes–he and Cooper might have their differences and their relationship was odd because of the years between them but–losing him?  He couldn’t imagine surviving the loss of his brother.  “Sebastian..  I didn’t..  I’m sorry,” he had to shake himself back to his senses after the whiplash inducing speed that Sebastian changed the subject with.  Blaine instantly jumped onto the abrupt shift.  “Um–we’re still talking baby pictures in the show you mine department, Seb. You’re forced to wait til we’re at my house for that but–,” he glanced past Sebastian to the bed and back.  “Cuddles?  I can do cuddles.”  And after what he just learned?  He never wanted to cuddle Sebastian worse than he did right now.

definitely one of those families.

One of those families.  Sounds like television got something right about the wealthy.  Kurt nods in reply.
Following Blaine in, he only glances around briefly and tries not to trail behind.  The place was nice is all that mattered and if he were less in his head he might be made uncomfortable.  Might make an offhanded comment about the decorating too if he let himself.  He would definitely worry more about dragging water in due to the rain.

It would probably be weirder to leave him in his cold wet clothes all night, he thinks.  But Blaine got a smile out of him as he laughed at himself.  “Not weird.  Generous, actually.  I could go for a shower.”  He wonders absently if it’s a good idea though with how much he’s gotten lost in his head tonight.  He’d rather feel clean and warm than mention it.

Kurt didn’t find the offer weird?  That was a relief!  One that had Blaine glancing over his shoulder at the other boy with his smile renewed and a sparkle back in his eyes.  “Great!  Just make yourself at home.  There’s towels in the dressing room closet.  I’ll leave some clothes on the bed.”  The door to the last room at the end of the hall was already open and a dim amber light reflected across the hardwood floor.

“The bathroom’s just through the small dressing room over there,” he pointed to the right of his room to the dark wooden door was.  “I’ll be out of your hair and downstairs whenever you’re done,” he smiled up at Kurt while digging through his dresser and finding a pair of Dalton sweatpants and a t-shirt with the same crest on the front. They were tossed on the bed and he was already on his way back out of the room before he paused at the door and turned back around.  “Do you need anything else?”

nick.

“Apparently not. I really don’t know that much, I try to stay out of drama as much as possible. You know me Blaine.” Nick sighed. “But honestly? This is the first time something this bad has ever happened to the Warblers. It is taking a long time to fully comprehend anything that has happened.” He looked at Blaine sadly. When Nick answered his question he sighed. “okay.” He replied, wanting to say “good” but everything is not good. This is not how things should be. He nodded. “I wont say anything, promise. And you know me, Blainers. I KEEP my promises.” He said, looking at his phone to see the time. “I probably should get going. The nurses said I had like 10 minutes until visiting hours were over when I passed them.” He sighed, getting up from the chair that was next to Blaine’s bed.

“I know you do,” but he couldn’t hide the relief that showed clearly when Nick promised he wouldn’t tell on Sebastian.  Blaine wanted to handle things first for a number of reasons.  The main one being Sebastian’s homelife put aside?  He had questions for Sebastian that he wanted answered himself.  Not from parents or authority figures.  Worse yet?  The police.  He was already getting ready to lie to them once he was told that after he rested they’d be there to get a statement.  The idea of talking to them?  It hit too close to memories of the past he’d fought hard to put away.  And still–on quieter nights–had the uncanny ability to sneak up and catch him off guard enough to make a sliver of panic creep back in with the memory that’d play out before he could put a stop to it.  Tonight?  It’d done it twice. Like that night was waiting with a vengeance for a chance to be remembered.  This time?  He planned on lying to them.  Which made Nick’s and the other Warblers silence crucial.  “Nick?  Wait–sit down.  A few more minutes won’t hurt–right?”
