text — blaine ; I totally would have asked you face to face but… I kind of figured at least one other person would somehow be listening in on our conversation.

( mssg » kurt | sent ) I don’t think there’s ever going to be a day where I won’t be on the same page with you as far as that’s concerned.
( mssg » kurt | sent ) I like keeping it secret.  Besides.  If they figure out our spot?  Then there might be an awkward time where we end up walking in on something I’d rather not have to try to forget.
( mssg » kurt | sent ) Let’s go.  I really want to kiss you until we’re both dizzy.  Right.  Now.

kelsey.

“that would be nice.” kelsey admitted softly as she followed blaine’s lead over to the garbage can instinctively dropping the remaining trash from her lunch into the can before taking those few steps back to the table to grab her backpack and toss it over her right shoulder while doing her best to keep eye contact with the other teen to show she was still engaged in their conversation.

after all, the biggest reason kelsey had joined the glee club – aside from actually finding some enjoyment in singing and dancing – was to make friends and feel that sense of belonging. glee club had its up and downs like any family. but at the end of the day it was exactly everything she wanted socially. at the end of the day they always had each other’s backs because that’s what a family does, they stand up for each other even if they’re fighting themselves. and since the only family she had was her mother this experience was all that more important to the teenager. even thought she’d probably never dare to admit such a thing.

“nah i’m TOTALLY up for that.” even if it might be a little embarrassing, it didn’t take much for kelsey to get embarrassed but she would get over that. she always did. “so, you have any ideas on a song that will appeal to their inner sappy selves – just in case? or are we gonna like wing that part?” because that would be a little difficult to just come up with on the spot… plus she really needed to learn more songs for when they all randomly broke out into song so she didn’t have to pretend like she knew ALL the notes and words.

Linking arms with her, Blaine mosied along the path out of the lunchroom and decided that instead of catching up with the others?  They could head to the auditorium to discuss their taking over the glee club plan in more detail.  Students ambled past them but Blaine’s attention was all on Kelsey while his brain tried to come up with the best plan possible.  A songtervention.

Not just to make sure they didn’t suffer and inevitable defeat.  But because he wasn’t sure how much more bickering he could take before shooting off something he shouldn’t say (and would later regret) to the next person who threw a fit.  Er.  Wouldn’t that be throwing a fit too?  A fit to end a fit?  Yeah, it’d work but he didn’t want to cause more drama on top of the already there drama that he and Kelsey were trying to dissipate.

“Great!  Glad to see you’re willing to give it a shot.  Either it’ll work..or not and we’ll get told to shut up but that’s not going to stop me from trying.”  Squinting thoughtfully and humming as his head bobbed from side to side, a thoughtful pout jutted out his bottom lip as he internally debated song choices.  “Depends.  What are you in the mood for and who do you know best?” Suddenly, it struck him he didn’t know what she would or wouldn’t know.  Yeah, they definitely needed some auditorium time to figure this out.  Winging it might be a disaster.

stolenscarlet.

“Yeah.”  He nods, suddenly realizing that they were about to genuinely be reintroducing themselves.  Catching up.  Somehow it felt like some sort of surprise.  Perhaps he’d been too expectant of rejection to be prepared for the alternative.  Questions from earlier in the day return to his mind; what Blaine was doing now, if he got into the college he wanted, if he was still with Kurt, if he was pursuing the arts like he wanted to and should have.  “After I graduated from Dalton I went back home basically, went to college to get into forensics and police work- I’m a CSI in Central City now.”  Technically the owner of S.T.A.R. Labs as well, among other things, but he thinks it easier to not mention that than try to explain how he became into ownership of it and open himself up to a new category of questions.

“What about you?  Where’d you go after McKinley?”  He always wished for the best for Blaine.  He hopes he wasn’t wrong in thinking that he would go far.  It was always something of a comfort to him when Blaine had left Dalton and later Ohio all together to think that he would go places.  He was a good person, strong willed and capable.  Barry always wanted to think that at least one person whose life he touched would be okay.

Reacquainting themselves with one another was a lot less awkward than Blaine initially thought it would be.  He sat there, toying with his straw, as Barry told him about his life past Dalton and what he’s been up to all these years.  A CSI?  That was a profession Blaine never would have seen as something Sebastian would choose.  A lawyer, sure.  Or maybe a performer.  Se–Barry was deeply talented.  He was mesmerizing to watch on stage and seemed to enjoy every second he spent performing with the Warblers.  But a CSI?  Like the guys on the television shows dealing with murder and dead bodies all the time?  No.  Blaine wouldn’t have seen that coming for his friend at all.  Impressive as it was.  “Do you enjoy that? Dealing with what you must see day in and day out has to be hard.  I don’t think I could do that.”

“What have I been up to,” Blaine echoed back with a lift of both eyebrows.  A small, uneven smile was given up to the other before aimed down into his drink.  “I..ah.  I moved here right after graduation.  Got into NYADA and things were going really great.  Then not so great.  I took a year away.  Went back to Lima, actually, and ended up working at Dalton.  Believe it or not.” His life was chaotic those first couple of years out of McKinley.  To sum it up in the lightest way possible.  Now, things were quiet and steady.  Lonely but he wouldn’t trade it for chaos again. No matter how quiet some of his nights are.  “Went I came back, I enrolled at Tisch and graduated this past year.  NYU all the way.  Acting and performance studies.”  He smiled and took a sip, shrugging as he shook his head.  “Now, I’m in the slow grind of trying to make a name for myself.  And that long winded explanation pretty much sums up my every day.”

Sebastian lunged Blaine into him as he wrapped his arms around him his heart stammering against his chest, making his hands shaky as they closed on Blaine’s back. He squeezed him tight. So tight it hurt. Before tugging him more into his arms, if that was possible and pressing his face onto Blaine’s shoulder. Taking full advantage of the other’s position sat over the counter. ‘God, Blaine.’ His voice was wet, and his eyebrows creased painfully. One of his co-workers had gotten a call about an injured partner, and they’d thought the message was fort Sebastian for a moment. And it had scared the WITS out of him, before the mix up was fixed. He’d been one step out the door for the hospital, actually already getting into his car, when his boss stopped him. Just the mere thought of Blaine being hurt in anyway, had left him completely out of it.

Blaine had no idea what was coming for him.  A puzzled expression was tossed over his shoulder when he heard the door open and close.  Rather loudly and a little early for Sebastian to be home, mind you.  He barely had time to call out a greeting–his ‘Hey!  What are you doing home so soon?’ came out more like a.. ‘H–uh!’ as he was grabbed and pulled into Sebastian’s chest.  Hard.  “Sebastian??”  Instantly thinking something terrible happened by Sebastian’s expression and how he’d run at him and was now squeezing him so tight he couldn’t breathe, Blaine grabbed on just has hard as he was sat on the counter.  His hand instantly buried itself in the cool soft of Sebastian’s hair as his legs wrapped around a slender waist trying to keep him as close as possible. By the time his other half was tucked away?  Worry pooled inside of his stomach so deep it was making him sick.  “Honey.  Honey.  What’s wrong?  What’s the matter?”

Rachel knew that she was being selfish, but she couldn´t
help it. Finn´s death had thrown her off track, and she had been trying to stay
strong for Kurt and even for Carol, but the truth was: She was broken. Not
necessarily because she had still been in love with him, but because she had
figured he would always be a part of her life and now that image of her future
had just been ripped apart.

He had been Blaine´s friend too, though, and simply relying
on Blaine to make her feel better, even if he was offering, was selfish. He was
suffering too, and yet here he was, trying to take care of both Kurt and her.
Rachel sighed, cradling the tea mug he had given her in her hands.

When Blaine told her he´d stay Rachel felt as if a part of
the weight she´d been carrying around with her had been lifted off of her. She
offered him what she assumed was a smile, the best she could come up with.

“Audrey.” She finally decided, because as much as she loved
Barbra: It would remind her too much of the times she had made Finn watch Funny
Girl with her. Rachel put the tea aside and scrambled out of bed, going for her
DVD collections. She went through it for a little while before pulling out a
case.

“How about Roman Holiday? I heard they´ll be holding
auditions for a revival on Broadway soon!”

The tiniest smile from Rachel made Blaine feel like he’d just moved a mountain all by himself.  A swell of relief and happiness made his heavy heart feel lighter as he searched her eyes and reflected it with the same upward curve of his lips right back.  Even if it was barely there, it meant everything to him.  “Audrey it is..  I’m more in the mood for her anyway.  Then again,” he asked trying to perk up even brighter, “When is there ever not a good time for Miss Hepburn?”

His hands were waiting, ready for the DVD when she drew close and he waved towards the bed as soon as he took it.  “Go get comfy.  Or I’m claiming three quarters of the mattress all to myself.  You have yet to encounter my starfish capabilities.  They’re pretty impressive.”

When his back was to her–Blaine took just a second to center himself as he thumbed the DVD in the player and flicked the volume button on the TV up a few notches keeping it low enough so Kurt wouldn’t wake up but loud enough for them to enjoy.  His smile fell, his eyes went tired. Both were erased by the same lopsided smile he had a minute ago the second he had the remote in his hand and scurried back to her side grabbing her hairbrush off her dresser on the way.

“I love you, Rachel Berry.  You know that,” he asked with a hum as he rested his back against the headboard and crossed his legs under one another.  “Come here,” motioned down to his lap and wiggled the brush.  “I’ll brush your hair while we watch.  Deal?”

// Okay loves!  Did some writing the other night that I need to icon and get posting!  I kinda might’ve watched Get Out and fell asleep last night without doing that.  Oops.  Heading out for a bit but I will get to doing that and writing more when I am home!  Sorry about my quiet! Work’s been kicking my rear, but it’s finally learning to chill out.  Thank god.  Catch you cats soon!

“Can you believe we’ve both been nominated for prom king?           In my opinion, may the best man win–

but we both know it’s most likely going to be me.”

Oh the McCarthy ego—- how strong it can be.

“I know.  I can’t believe it either.  Crazy, right?  I agree may the—”  Oh.  Wow.  Did he really just say that?  A brow cocked high on Blaine’s forehead.  McCarthy ego meet Anderson courtesy even if it’s hanging on by a thin, oh no you didn’t thread.

Well.  I guess we’ll have to wait and see.”
