“still in town, man?” it’s alwayssomewhat nice to come across someone he actually thinks he recognizes, a break from walking around and wondering how many faces he’s forgotten.“hope everything’s alright.”
he looks down for a moment, hoping he actually has remembered him, and isn’t making an utter fool of himself. he decides to give it a shot anyway.“i have the day off, so i could show you around if you want.”
“Yeah. Still in town,” Blaine hummed over the rim of his glass quirking a brow as he took a sip. “Looks like the part they need has to come from the nearest dealership. The closest one that has it in stock? Phoenix. Aside from the one they thought they needed two days ago when it arrived and it was the wrong one, I mean.”
He’d already let Cooper know he was going to be late. Like days late. Now? Seems as though it’s going to be a few more.
Aside from knowing no one? The quiet and boredom from lack of company or anything to do was going to start driving him crazy. No wonder why so many townies ended up right where he was. At the tavern. “Yeah? Seriously?” His heart leaps at the offer and he’s already stepping away from his half empty drink and motioning towards the door. “Lead the way. You have no idea how stir crazy I’m getting. Good day off so far?”
( mssg » blaine | sent) I think without context it’s kind of weird.
( mssg » blaine | sent) I promise not to judge you at all. ( mssg » blaine | sent) C’mon, Blaine.
( mssg » blaine | sent) Don’t be shy.
( mssg » blaine | sent) I wanna know.
( mssg » dave | sent) Great! So, you’re telling me I made this weird by trying to not make it weird? That’s pretty much par for the course in my book lately. ( mssg » dave | sent) Since you promised. Plus, now, I’ve got to make this un-weird. ( mssg » dave | sent) We’re in your car heading somewhere. I haven’t been able to figure out where yet. Maybe if I have it again? Anyway. Your hand is in mind while the other is steering. Oh, This is in one version of it. Cause there’s two. ( mssg » dave | sent)
You’re telling me that you’re so excited and we’re both itching to get to wherever it is we’re heading. Our first trip together or whatever and it’s this huge deal. ( mssg » dave | sent) I have no idea what road we’re on but you pull over and we’re suddenly out of the car and on some lakefront. ( mssg » dave | sent) Have I lost you here? Still with me?
GREEN EYES ADJUST to the shine of the ghost light on the stage, but just for a moment, before blaine has flicked on some of the lights, and stadium seating exposes itself at an entirely new angle. sure, she’d been in the auditorium countless times before, but usually her little butt was planted in one of the maroon folding seats. no, now she was standing on the stage with him, on the other end of the room she’d always seen without thinking twice. ❝ it’s so cool to just like… be on this side of it, y’know ? ❞ she crosses her arms, holding herself a little as she shrugs. ❝ i mean, i’m… an avid shower-singer. but… i dunno. i love music, all music, and… i guess i just can’t remember a time when i wasn’t interested. i just didn’t… think i’d be good enough to bother… ❞
Blaine stole a few seconds to glance out over the rows of seats that stretched up into the inky dark. “You know? Sometimes,” he paused and shook his head turning his attention to her and lifting his brows to stress his correction, “All the time, actually, being up here? Makes me feel like I’m in a different world. From the stage to the props and even if there aren’t any where and it’s only lights above and below?” His toe nudged at the row of footlights on the lip of the stage. “I think coming up here lets you be good enough no matter how much you might doubt yourself. Once you’re here? If you let it? The stage takes care of the rest,” he smiled warmly, “Sorry. That’s grossly poetic. So. Do you have questions about the New Directions? Or do you want to get down to the part where we sing right away? Cause, as of right now, this is your show.”
we just broke up and you came over to get a box of your stuff from my place but wtf the power went out because of a really bad storm and you shouldn’t be driving in this just … chill for a couple of hours, okay?
we broke up years ago and both moved away, lost touch. now our friends each suggested a blind date and shit, you’re my date apparently.
we moved into a little apartment together while we were dating and then we broke up but neither of us could really afford to get our own place so now we’re stuck as roommates, watching each other bring home random one night stands or dates.
you were my brother/sister’s best friend and that’s how we met, and started dating. now we broke up and you’re obviously still friends with them, and you spend nights at my place but now it’s just awkward to run into you in the hall way at 1 am right after my shower.
we broke up right before a giant roadtrip our friends planned and we don’t want to bail on everyone and ruin the trip so yay, looks like we get to spend a five hour drive and a weekend in a cottage together.
we were our high school’s golden couple but we went to different colleges and the distance broke us up. fifteen years later, i’m in the middle/just getting over a bad marriage and you’re having your own relationship problems and it’s the high school reunion.
we dated pretty seriously and your parents were also absentee. now we are broken up and it’s like five years later and your absentee father is my new boss.
