Since that awkward moment when she was drunk and kissed the guy, Rachel had felt a connection to Blaine Anderson. At first, she thought he might have feelings for her, but what drug was she on? The way everyone else saw it, especially Kurt, he was gay. Still, she thought that maybe, just possibly he could find her attractive. Besides, at the time, he didn’t really “come out”, so how was she supposed to know what he liked?

Besides Finn, Rachel had never really met anyone else who could keep up with her vocally like Blaine. His talent was rare. He could sing and dance like a god and when he spoke, you couldn’t help but to listen. It was so inspiring to see that much of a gift inside someone besides herself. Now Rachel didn’t think she was the best dancer, but she was definitely better than some of the other Glee club members and sadly, her own boyfriend was on that list as well.

Besides being a dynamite performer, there were other qualities that Rachel found admirable in the male. He was a kind soul and had an infectious laugh that you couldn’t stop yourself from laughing with him. He was a wonderful friend to have in your corner and was there for you when you needed a push to go on.

Standing at her locker, she brushed through her hair in between classes, getting her books for the one she had next. She looked over, flashing a smile in Blaine’s direction before skipping over to talk. “We should do something fun tonight. Don’t worry, no more drunken make out sessions. Movie marathon?” She clapped her hands. “Or karaoke!” Laughing from her own enthusiasm, she linked her arm with his, a sigh passing through her lips. “I just need a break. This whole NYADA thing is really getting me down. I can’t believe I messed up that song.” She frowned. She knew that Blaine would make her feel better. He had a way of doing that when she was sad.

Blaine checked his reflection in the tiny mirror stick to the inside of his locker. After a gym shower, one had to be a little cautious of hairgel not really going as planned until it stuck.  Walking around school with hair going every which way would be a disaster.  Thankfully, everything was neatly in place and he could stop worrying about it.  Grabbing out two books and stuffing them in his bag, he gave the door a nudge with his shoulder and listened to it latch closed.

A twist of the lock and he was about to be on his way to search for Kurt.  Their skip study hall and use glee club practice as an excuse for a 1:30 kissing session in a dark auditorium Bucket List check off was the number one reason why Blaine had a particular skip to his step all day. About to was the key phrase..

Rachel caught his attention with a smile and a skip over.

A flood of suggestions for how they should spend their night left Blaine with an ear to ear grin and his shoulders shaking in huffs of a chuckle.  “Rachel.  Hi!  You look better today..–”   Blaine paused almost en route to give her arm a squeeze as she linked it with his.  He knew she was going through a rough time since she choked on her audition.

Okay.  Rough time didn’t cover what his friend was suffering through.  Her dreams were ruined (or so she thought because Blaine knew she would come out of this the star he knew she would be and overcome this roadblock if she would let herself believe in her as much as he did) and she was devastated.  But today there was a light in her eyes he sorely missed and he wasn’t going to blow her off when she seemed to be on the up and up.

“I tell you what?  How about a karaoke movie marathon?  We could combine the two,” he grazed past any mention of NYADA not wanting her to focus on that again but the night ahead. “We can pick out a few musicals and turn your basement into a theater?  You, Kurt, me?  I’ll order us dinner and have it delivered?  What do you think?  I know he’d love it.”
