Nick was almost to the door when Blaine called him back in. He turned around. “I guess I have a few more minutes.” He agreed and came back closer. Part of him wished he didn’t come at all, but the bigger part was glad he did. He took a deep breath and sat down. He figured it might be a better idea to get Blaine’s thoughts off the subject. He didn’t know how to at first. “So, not sure if you heard but I am starting to get a few college credits online. So when I do manage to go to NYU or wherever I go… I will already be pretty ahead.” He said to Blaine with a smile. He was still on the young side, but it wasn’t unheard of.
Sighing in relief as Nick turned around and returned back to the chair beside the bed–Blaine let his head fall to rest against the pillows. Tired but not tired enough to go to sleep alone, he squirmed around until he was snuggled up under the blankets and on his side facing him. By the time he was settled? Blaine was just a ball of sheets and blankets with his head poking out. Noticing that Nick changed the subject–Blaine let him and was honestly thankful for the switch. If he thought about tonight any more? Sleep wouldn’t be a remote possibility unless the painkillers won out. Which they might anyway. “You did, Nicky? That’s great! I’m really proud of you. What are you thinking of as a major? Decide yet? Please tell me you’re going to keep singing. Your voice is too good to stop all together. Even if you decide on something else.”
