dave.

Dave had honestly expected Blaine to reject the whole thing, to explain to him that he just wasn’t ready to take that step in their relationship, or that it wouldn’t be a good idea for the two of them to do that. After all, inside of Dave, he knew that he would just become comfortable enough only to have something happen that would destroy everything. He hoped, given their relationship, that maybe this would push them in another direction. He could see a life with Blaine. Maybe it wouldn’t be the life he envisioned when he was in the hospital, but something even better – – happier. He could feel his heart racing; he had just wanted the official confirmation, to know he wasn’t immediately going to regret opening his mouth. He was a pile of relief. “You have no idea how relieved and happy I am to hear you say that to me,” he murmured. Dave let out a relief chuckle, shaking his head. “Not as amazing as you, and that’s no lie. You’re pretty damn amazing, and I’m pretty lucky that I get to date you. I’m so happy I get to experience so many things with you, and now we’re starting a whole other adventure and you have no idea how excited I am to do that with you, there isn’t anyone else that I would want to do this with,” he admitted.

Holding onto Dave–Blaine felt his mind already racing to let the idea that he would be moving in with this man settle in.  Instead of letting his head fill with more unreasonable questions–he focused on Dave and Dave alone. On the sound of his voice as he spoke so sweetly that Blaine felt a sting of tears in his eyes at what he was listening to.  Dave really thought that about him? That he was lucky they were together?  Oh, the poor gentle soul had no idea that it was the opposite.  Blaine knew he was the lucky one. So so very lucky.  “Dave..?  Thank you and all I can say is me too.  I’m so excited.” Giddiness filled the empty spot his fear left behind.  Blaine let his head fall back as he laughed.  “We’re both awful at taking compliments from each other.  It’s like a race to see how we can make the other person feel even more important,” his feet tucked underneath the backs of Dave’s knees and his elbows bent further down between them so he could lean in and rest against Dave’s chest.  Face to face–small kisses began to peck and dart over Dave’s lips.  “Maybe this weekend–you can show me the place,” he asked between smooches.  “If you can get into it?  Can you?  If not–I’ll wait.  Or try to.  I want to see it though. I’m sure it’s perfect.”
